Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar through his pop-folk songs based on folk, many of them based in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and later moved to Aspen. Many people took the road towards Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. There isn't anyone else who represents Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. He is now the face of Colorado on the world stage. In my journeys, you meet someone from the other end of the planet, or someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm originally from Colorado and the first thing out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits after he performed with smaller folk groups. The song was written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song to Johnny Cash's tune with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver realized from the first moment he listened to the first versions of the song that it would be a big popular. The singer recorded the song just a few days later after performing it to crowds of enthusiastic fans in Washington D.C.
